About Us
With nearly 50 years’ experience our technicians still handcraft sheets of British steel into works of automotive art on which any chassis would be proud to sit; whether it’s a classic, drift racer or a fully customized statement on wheels.
Recognised as the ultimate steel wheel, for 50 years Weller has been the benchmark for precision, performance and quality. Tested to the latest standards, it’s no wonder that iconic British brands, such as Silverstone, Kahn Design, the AA and even James Bond want to be seen on our legendary wheels. As the original steel wheel manufacturers in Europe, we continue to thrive from our humble roots with some of the globe's coolest rides sporting a set of Weller steel wheels.
THE ORIGINAL STEELS
HAND BUILT IN GREAT BRITAIN
Weller Wheels was founded by British engineer Les Weller. With an eye for detail, a mathematical mind and a belief that a better job could be achieved in making steel wheels, Weller was firmly put on the map.
The wonder years began in his old man’s garage taking power from his Mom’s cooker to run his machines and tooling. That power surge enabled the first set of wheels to roll out the door and onto Alan Mann’s Ford Falcon in the British Saloon Car Championship. Getting a taste of success early doors, Les moved onto road cars and developed the iconic British 8 spoke which is still one of our signature wheels.
Rolling back the years, in 1960, straight out of school Les’ first day at work was with Lola Cars. Testing Formula Junior race cars at Crystal Palace race track and hanging out with the pit crew, it wasn’t long before Les was rubbing shoulders with the legendary F1 world champions Jim Clark and Graham Hill along with a true British design genius, Colin Chapman founder of Lotus cars.

Some thirteen years on, Weller Wheels started producing a new 5.5”x13” Formula Ford wheel especially for Lola Cars at their request and it wasn’t long before Van Dieman, Crossle and all the other Formula Ford manufacturers followed suit. Weller Wheels is privileged to have had F1 legends Michael Schumacher, Nigel Mansell, David Coulthard, Mika Hakkinen, and many more motor sporting greats racing on our wheels and we still supply the Formula Ford 1600 series to this day.
It’s a labour of love to make one of our handcrafted steel wheels and we go through a cycle of 25 individual operations to make sure each meets the Weller standard. Each wheel is checked, rechecked, tested and certified before leaving our purpose-built factory in the West Midlands. Each design has its own set of unique processes, so our craftsmen use their skills, precision and knowledge, gained from decades of experience to create wheels that allow you to create a transformative look for your vehicle.
Today Weller has evolved to become a lifestyle brand, from the wheels on your ride to the clothes on your back, we live, eat and breathe our brand.
